The Skills
for Success training program is designed
to help you provide consistent, high-quality training
to people just entering the hospitality industry and to
line-level employees already working in hospitality businesses.
Studies show that employees like to receive training,
provided that the training is practical. This program
provides hospitality knowledge and skills that participants
can use on the job from the very first day.
Built
into the Skills for Success
training program are the Educational Institute's all-new
Hospitality Skill Certifications for line-level rooms
and food and beverage employees. Skills for Success
brings the professional clout of AH&LA's certification
programs to the people who are on the front line with
guests.
Benefits
of line-level certification include:
Reduced turnover. By highlighting strengths,
line-level certification builds loyalty, encouraging
staff to stay with a property and excel.
Measurable improvements in guest service. By
building confidence, line-level certification helps
employees deliver quality service.
More knowledgeable, competent employees. As
the culmination of job-specific training, line-level
certification demonstrates that employees know their
jobs inside and out.
Those
participants who successfully complete the Skills for
Success training program can apply for line-level certification
from the Educational Institute. Certification from the
Educational Institute is the industry's most recognized
mark of professionalism. By becoming certified, participants
have proof that they possess the skills required to
succeed in their position, and they have achieved a
milestone that should help them advance in their hospitality
careers.
The
Skills for Success training program covers two broad
hospitality areas: rooms, and food and beverage. The
training materials for each area are organized and administered
in exactly the same way. The following sections explain
the components of the program.
