This prestigious certification program benefits employees and employer alike with nationally recognized standards of service.

Just imagine the benefits you will experience by earning your professional certification providing you the tools to enhance customer satisfaction and your career development. The CGPT is available for three housing specific areas:

  1. FMO (Furnishings Management Office)
  2. AH (Accompanied Housing)
  3. UH (Unaccompanied Housing)

Gain a Thorough Knowledge of Your Duties

Job-specific training resources provided by the Housing Flight include:

  • Air Force Instructions, Pamphlets, and Handbooks.
  • Functional training courses including videos.
  • Housing Flight training from the Educational Institute.

What is Required?

To successfully earn the technician certification, a candidate/employee must meet the following program requirements:

  • Be currently employed in the position for which certification is sought (FMO, AH, or UH) and have a minimum of six months of experience in the position.
  • Review/study appropriate training materials (see application for more details).
  • Achieve a score of 70% or better on the written test, which stresses knowledge of important job related information, including (but not limited to) the key tasks of: Assignments, Terminations, Inspections, Counseling, Quality Assurance, Inventory Control, Relocation/Referral Assistance, Set Aside Housing, and Mediation/Compliant Inquiries.

So How Do I Enroll?

If you believe that your current training and development activities have adequately covered the skills required, you may order the relevant technician certification packets and proceed directly to the examination phase. Obtain additional guidance and information from your supervisor.

Certification Packet
The certification packet for the technician candidate contains the following:

  • An application with certification voucher.
  • A training and development booklet.
  • A letter if explanation.

Cost
The $35 fee covers the cost of the above items plus...

  • Administration/Processing of the applications
  • Exam grading
  • Entering the results into the data base and maintaining those results upon successful completion
  • The appropriate lapel pin and a certification suitable for framing
